The forms in the Path paintings follow the walking trails in the Arnold Arboretum. Each painting represents a section of the park map. The silver shapes that mark the trails are drawings of puddles. They are the outlines of rainwater on deteriorating blacktop. As the water dries, large puddles break apart forming patterns on the surface of the asphalt. In the paintings, the patterns follow the direction of the footpath.
